McCoy, james Huddleston and Reeves. McCoy got by Powers at the line at the end of lap one as Reeves passed Huddleston. Reeves took over the second spot on the next lap and SLaTted pressuring McCoy but couldn't find a hole to get around as McCoy hung on to take the win. Polson got a slow SLaTt in the restart and had to work his way through traffic from ninth to fourth behind Powers. Motocrosser Rodney Young led the 250cc junior TT race the first lap into the main, but tried to use the berm on the hairpin turn coming out of the infield, losing the lead to last year's winningest junior, Bobby Shaw. On lap five, the berm again cost him a position as Kevin Switzer hugged the pole for second place and Mike George finished in third when Young ate a mouthful of dirt on the final lap. Kenny Tolbert led the Open Senior TT for three laps but when he lost power on the fourth lap his hand went up and Gary Kidd cook over for the win ahead of Rusty Gourley and john Gladwill.
