Wadded
A 1984 Yamaha
FJIIOO by Ken Vreeke, in the Motorcyclist magazine driveway, during a
comparison test. Other machines tested (and not crashed) incl ude a Honda
VFIOOOF Interceptor, a Suzuki
GSI150, and a Kawasaki Ninja. Fastest two at the dragHrip were the
Suzuki and the Yamaha, in that order.
Californian Dave Busby took his
Yamaha TZ250L out of the crate
and qualified 34th at the Spanish
Grand Prix, but was not allowed to
start the race due to political complications. Busby's Yamaha was
impounded by race officials with
no explanation. It seems that Busby
pre-entered on a Kobas, but had
the Yamaha shipped over due to
problems encountered with the
Kobas. Now he's in Europe with
no start for the next Grand Prix.
Tuning for Busby is Bob Work.
An educational film about safe motorcycle riding produced by the Northern Illinois University's Division of
Communication Services has won an
Honorable Mention Award from the
National Education Film Festival in
Oakland, CA. The film was produced
in conjunction with the MotorcYcle
Safety Programjn N.1. U.'s College of
Continuing Education, runs 17 minutes, and is available in 16mm and
W'-inch and ~"-inch videotape. More

The Viewfinders M.C. annual trophy presentations will be held at
the Howard Johnson's in Monrovia, California on May 18. Located
just off the 21 0 Freeway. the bash
boasts a live band. two bars. and a
trophy girl compliments of Malcolm Smith. The gates open at 7
p.m .• with the presentations starting at 7:30.
HosPITal STOP: Long time desert
ace and current SCORE Class 38 participant Dave Miller crashed while
competing in the Arizona Desert Racing Associa tion'sLoma 125 on April
28. A veteran of over 60 ADRA finishes, Miller was knocked unconscious from his fall. He has been hospitalized in Good Samaritan Hospital
in the Phoenix area since the accident, but as of press time, has not
