WARD TIGHTENS THE NOOSE

The gate dropped.Then the crowd suddenly fell silent. Jeff Ward
got hung up in first-turn traffic and crashed hard. The pack was
gone. His race had run. It was over. But Ward rose up and
restarted. Dead last. Then began the comeback of the year. In lap
two he passed 25 riders to go. from 40th to 15th place. In six
more laps he was up to 2nd, and finished there. There was
no stopping him in moto 2. He quickly powered to the
lead on his- KX125 and won overall by six seconds,
tightening the noose on his 125 point lead.-Yo.u,
