eight checks. RoeseJer lost 24 points at check five and carried that most of the way with him until the last loop, where his scores again ranked with the best in the AA class. Behind Roeseler in skill level were 500-600 A, Band C riders who were battling for trophies and local se"ries awards that meant as much to them as the National Enduro Championship doe to the AA clas . First among the e riders wa Grant Palenske from southern California who won the overall A bonors on his 250 Honda with 30 points, good enough for 13th overall. Dan eilson took the 250ccA title with 32 points which was equal to that of Open A cia s winner John Haaker. Grant's brother Garner claimed the 200cc A trophy after beating Steve Shoemaker out of a tie at 45 points. Overall class winners at the Quickilver will receive personalized enduro jackets while individual class winners will receive Malcolm Smith enduro clocks, but one special winner is overall B class victor Brett Cary who will automatically transfer to the A class for his achievements at a National event. Cary's score of 34 was 14 points better than that of second overall B and first 250cc B Larry Jorgen en, who scored one point better than 200cc B class winner Dwayne Bansemer. William Roope finished first in the Four-Stroke B class with 81 points while Wayne Stanfield took the Senior class (age 35-45) and Roger Corley claimed the Super Senior class (45+). After watching the C class riders try to finish after dark last year, the Salinas Ramblers decided to finish the C class rider at about 70 miles. Bob Nappo was the overall winner with 31 points, TwO points ahead of Richard Wilson and 200ccclass winner Richard Van Horn. Anissa Wilson topped five other women for the Women C class honors and Mike Taylor made it TwO in a row, repeating last year's win in the Four-Stroke C class. • Results OVERALL: 1.
