Wh ile Kawasaki has pulled out of road racing. their National-level MX effort will remain in full force through 1984. according to team member Billy Liles . "Jeff Ward. Kent Howerton and I all have contracts that expire at the end of 1984. and we all expect to finish our contracts out, " Liles said. " A ll three of us have been in Japan testing the works machinery we w ill be riding in '8 4. but no decision has bee n ma de as to who w ill ri de w hat size of m achine." Liles, w ho resides in Fairburn. Georgia. w ill head to Calif orn ia in early January for a six-week stint training, as well as riding the Go lden State MX Series and opening Superc ross rounds. Adkins. along with Jack Sturgis , hoo ked up with Filice at mid-season and the Sa lisbury. Maryland. duo provided Filice w ith machinery t hat enabled him t o score three National m ile w ins.
