Brizendine, McDow return to action at Austin MX By Joe Milian AU Tl ,TX, NOV. 18 o werewolve were spotted tonight at Austin MoLO Sport Park but it was obvious from the framic activity on the track and in the pits that a full moon was out. . Racing was made somewhat livelier by the appearance of Tommy McDow and Trey Brizendine, two riders who have not graced the proceedings with their presence for some time. Both made a successful re-entry into the mainstream of Cen-Tex mOLOcross, as McDow vanquished Bob Goldade and Smokey Joe in the Over 30 clash, and Brizendine beal back David Rauser and Tony Seguar in hotly contested 250cc Novice competition. Segura,. who came lO spectate, managed LO borrow riding gear when Kasson Yamaha Racing Team's James Nicholson offered the use of h is YZ250 after lweaking his knee in practice. Thus Segura, who has considerable racing experience in Mexico, found himself on the gate without the benefit of even one warmup lap. ''The first moLO was my practice," Segura stated. "1 just followed everybody until 1 discovered the turns of the course." He did just thal for the first two laps. running next-LO-last until he got his bearings. By this time Brizendine and Bauser had separated themselves from the re t of the field. Rauser stayed within striking distance of Brizendine until the last lap when he struck a tire lhal had been inad· vertently rolled onto Lhe lrack. Segura gOl by Andy Thompson and Ralph Rust to move up LO third at the flag. The second moLO belonged totally LO Brizendine as he LOok the holeshol and disappeared. Segura got a poor starl and then collided wilh Deno Fanner in the second turn, pUlling him back toeighth place. Bauserand Thompson both went up and over the giant berm at the end of the secondary slraightaway and in their haste LO return LO the fray, slammed into one another and wenl down again. Bauser got the best of that encounter, losing only one position while Thompson was unable LO make his bike start and retired.. Meanwhile egura had moved into third place and closed rapidly on Bauser. Their duel put them past Rust with a lap remaining and Bauser held off the challenge LO place inches ahead of the Mexican visitor at the flag. Results MINI JR: 1. Jason Miller (Han); 2.
