PORTING TOOLS Year Doug Chandler made appearances at Baylands Raceway tonight. with each winning.his respeotive main event. For Chandler. it added up to a 17-straight main event record over the past two years. Baylands Raceway has recently constructed a one-seventh-mile dirt oval next to its "notorious" stadium 'and outdoor motocross tracks, with the .. intent to bring in Class A speedway and flat track. The outlaw show has been growing and this night saw its largest turnout of riders and spectators. . Rusty Firanzi won his secondstraight 2SOcc Novice show in front of Pete Ghiglione and Kerry Puccio. Ted Taylor rode off the back row to take the 2S0/S0Occ Junior combined show while Steve McKibben took the big-boy honors. Bruce Johnson and Danny Moore were Chandler's two protagonists for the green in the 2SOcc Expert main. with Johnson leading early on Moore. who is preparing for Houston '84 just to beon the safe side. The IS-lapper was close to being over before Chandler made the moves that he has become famous for. Reading the race track just right. he guided his CR2S0R Honda around the other two and coppe5i yet another in a long line of 2SOcc Expert main event victories. Randy Gonzales gOI out of the hole just right once again and failed to fall down as he did in the heat and won the SOOcc Novice event over Joe Mitchell.
