While the AA and A riders struggled to stay on their min ute, their Band C counterparts were collecting points at an alarming rate. The best score among the C riders was 91, turned in by Barry Crone of Hughesville, Pennsylvania. Crone, sponsored by Hill's Motorsports in Hughesville, said, "I prefer hare scrambles, but I'll take the win'" His mount was a KTM 250. All in all, nearly everyone approved of the way the entire event came off. As Senior A rider Carl Scharphorn said, "You can tell that it was designed and laid out by enduro riders. They know what to do." Carl lost an even • 100 points for third in the class.
