IN THE WIND P46 Dorna Will Hold A Place For Cal Crutchlow M otoGP rights Dorna said it will help Cal Crutchlow remain on the MotoGP grid for 2021 despite losing his ride at LCR Honda. Crutchlow's place at LCR looks to be in doubt following the news of Pol Espargaro's signing at Repsol Honda for 2021. That moves Alex Marquez into the second seat at LCR alongside Takaaki Nakagami, who will be retained thanks to the Idemitsu title sponsorship. Crutchlow thus only has two op- tions on the table for 2021—the second seat at Pramac Ducati alongside Jorge Martin, who will step up to MotoGP next year. This looks an unlikely scenario as incumbent Pecco Bagnaia is likely to be retained for 2021. That leaves only the second seat at Aprilia as teammate to Aleix Espargaro, although the avail- abil- ity of that seat is dependent on Andrea Iannone's Court of Arbitration for Sport ruling on his 18-month doping ban, a date for which is yet to be set. Speaking to motorsport.com, Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta, said, "I would like Cal to stay with us for a long time. And as we have done many times, we will help find a place for him [in 2021]." CN It seems Cal Crutchlow's career is not done yet. Cairoli, KTM Team Up For Another Year T hirty-four-year-old Antonio Cairoli and the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team will remain united through at least the 2021 season. The nine-time MX World Champion extended his contract with the team for a 12th straight year. He will again compete alongside Jorge Prado and Jeffrey Herlings. "I'm really motivated for another good season next year, so I'm really happy with the renewal of my riding contract," Cairoli said. "We'll see what 2020 has in store but my goal is to aim for the champion- ship and again in 2021. I'm very proud to have been so long with this factory team and I still want to write some pages in the history of KTM motocross." CN Antonio Caroli extended his contract with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team through the 2021 season.
