First Look: MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR
T
he Italian Sultans of Style,
MV Agusta, have taken the
wraps off the all-new 2020
Brutale 1000 RR, which is based
heavily on the Serie Oro the
company revealed 18 months
ago. The RR comes to the game
packing the same 998cc inline
four-cylinder motor that deliv-
ers a claimed 208 horsepower
at 13,000 rpm and 86 lb-ft of
torque at 11,000 rpm. If those
figures are correct, that puts
the RR straight to the top of the
hyper-naked bike pile ahead of
the Ducati Streetfighter V4 S,
Kawasaki Z H2, Aprilia Tuono
1100 Factory and KTM 1290
Super Duke R.
For the first time on the Bru-
tale 1000 (apart from the Serie
Oro), the new RR runs a six-
axis IMU from electronic partner
Eldor. There are four modes
to choose from (Sport, Race,
Rain and Custom), eight-stage
traction control, launch control,
cruise control, electronic steer-
ing damper, and a new wheelie
control setting called Front Lift
Control.
MV Agusta has also devel-
oped the new MV Ride app that
allows you to pair your phone for
turn-by-turn navigation, as well
as letting you set the electronic
parameters (ride mode, suspen-
sion, etc.) via your phone before
you get on.
North American pricing and
availability has yet to be deter-
mined. CN
The new MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR is
claimed to deliver 208 horsepower.
