Credits are being offered by JART to all riders who purchased a JART Rollchart for the AMA 0-36 Diamond Back Enduro on October 10,1983. JART understood that the gas stop was a known check, but it was run as a secret check. As a result, several riders using JART Rollcherts burned the check. If you had this problem, send the header portion of your rollchart to JART at 4673 Via La Prima Vera, Yorba Linda, CA 92686 and they will send you a credit for a future rollchart. They say this is the first time ever for such a problem. ~ (1) ..c o .... u o When Nonhern Californian Expen motocrosser Tonv Sauer broke his back in June 1978, which resulted in being paralyzed from the chest down, it didn't seem to slow him down. During the weekend of October 1-2 at . the "ifoyota/Coyote Smooth Track Championship for three· wheelers and Odysseys Sauer took second in the Stock class in his Odyssey. Gary Bailey, you know - the father of what's his name, the guy who won the Wrangler Super Series Grand National Championship and the 250Cc National MX Championship and the Supercross Championship and World Championships in the Trophee and Motocross des Nations events, videotaped the team races in Belgium and Czechoslovakia and will offer VHS and Beta format tapes to the public "shortly." We'll fill you in on price, etc. as soon as Professor Bailey has the tapes rolling off the duplicating machines. Oh yeah, David, that's his name, David Bailey. A new corporation, Watkins Glen International, Inc., has been formed to operate and manage the Watkins Glen road race circuit in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. Conrad R. Stem ski, president of Corning Enterprises, has been named chairman of the new corporation, and Bill France, J r., president of International Speedway Corporation, has been named vice chairman. Corning Enterprises owns Corning Glass Works in Corning, New York. International Speedway Corporation owns and operates major racing facilities at Daytona Beach, Florida; Talladega, Alabama; and Darlington, South Carolina. John R. Saunders has been named the circuit's director. "We will shortly be announcing our schedule for 1984 and I believe it will be exciting," said Saunders. Repon· edly, the Watkins Glen facility will host an AMA Grand National Championship/Camel Pro Series round next year. The American Federation of Motorcyclists will hold a Halloween Endur· ance Road Race October 30 at Sears Point Raceway. AFM Superstreet rules will apply, with classes being 250, 45'0, 600, 750 and Open. There is a 75-team limit with two to four riders per team. A special prize will be awarded to the rider, pit person or turn worker wearing tbe best costume to the rider's meeting.
