Lamb, West, Moody score solid wins at Wolf Creek MX By Joe Milian Ie< RIO VISTA, TX, SEPT. 18 Doug Lamb, Rodney West, and Jerry Moody won every moto they rode today at Wolf Creek Motocross Park, taking the overall victories in four different divisions. West did double duty as he swept both the 125cc Novice and 250cc Novice classes with I-I scores in each contest. Lamb received the first-place trophy for his performance in the 125cc Beginner clash and Moody emerged triumphant in the 125cc Expen comest. Forty-one riders signed up to ride in the 125cc Novice division so they were split into two separate groups, with a full set of trophies awarded to each. West took first over Mike Morgan and Jeff Case in one of the aggregations and Richard Beverly finished ahead of Steve Hill and Tony Lasater in the other. Lamb led 23 competitors across the line in both 125cc Beginner heats, topping the efforts of Bobby Neel and Rick Donoghue who finished second and third. In the 250cc Beginner struggle, first-moto winner Terry Pof( was nowhere to be found when the' subsequent moto ended and Jeff McAda's 2-1 placings were good for the V ..0 o ..... Things start to get a little out of hand as the Minis attack the first corner in Colorado. Brian Binkley dominated the competition. .; top prize. Clem Coun tess made a consistent showing in each outing to earn runner-up honors, with Robert Terry filling the third position. Moody used the long stan straightaway to his advantage in each heat, leading Rusty Pipes and Skipper Bea-' vers through the first turn both times out. The three held their respective places over the entire course of their two get-togethers and that's the way the purse was split at the conclusion of racing. John Kindhan had a relatively easy day of it in the 250cc Expert con· frontation, with uncontested wins in both heats. Ron Durfee and Larry Hughes traded second-place finishes but each had one troublesome session that hurt their overall chances. Roger Schellenberger made his 3-3 tally stand up for the second best payoff ahead of Dunfee who nipped Hughes by a scant poi1'!t. • u o Results MICRO MINI: 1. Eric Alstrin (Kow); 2.
