Corey Gash is the only rider who changes the color of his hair from week to week, and tonight, while as a blonde, this colorful rider outrode the 250cc Intermediate class for the overall win. Magallanes took the holeshot to start the first moto of the 125cc Intermediate class. Bill Clemson was running in second and John Davis was in third. The Ceet-sponsored Davis ended his night on the first lap when he bailed his Kawasaki just past the finish line. He pulled off the track not because he was injured but because his clutch had gone out. With Davis out of the way, John Posca advanced to third place behind Magallanes. On the second lap Posca pulled past Bill Clemson to claim second place. Clemson was fading quickly and on the third lap Derek Nye worked past him to take over third. Next in line to demote Clemson was John Begin, who on the fourth lap, shoved Clemson back to fourth. It was Magallanes, Posca, Nye and Begin until the final lap when Begin zapped Nye to take over third place. Proving that he was the fastest in his class, Magallanes took the holeshot in the final round of the l25cc Intermediates. North Orange County Yamaha rider Lance Rieman was seventh in the first round but this time he was in the runner-up spot. Gary Sailors is a consistent rider at Indian Dunes, but he came out to OCIR tonight and was running in third ahead of Dan Southworth. By the third lap Rieman dropped out of the race. Magallanes held the lead ov.er Sailors, Southworth and Eric Clemson. On the fifth lap it was Southworth who dropped back and l05t third place. Eric Clemson took over third and John Begin was running in fourth. Magallanes avoided confusion by staying in the lead the entire time. Two firsts earned him the overall.
