Manning had to comend with challenges from fellow Yamaha riders Greg Zitterkopf and Greg Torgersen. Zitterkopf followed Manning to the checkers in moto one, but a DNF in the second round dropped Zitterkopf from con· temion. Torgersen placed third in the first moto and cruised to an easy runner-up finish in the second LO clinch the number-two position at the pay window. Honda rider Dean Welsh captured third overall. Yamaha rider Brian Manley battled with Honda pilot Ed Arnet for the lead in both motos of the 250cc Pro race with Malcolm Smith/Yamaha rider Vince McMahon keeping the Pfessure on from third place, despite a1>alking transmission. Manley was first LO the checkers in moLO one, but Arnet fought to the lead in round two and took the overall win ahead of Manley and McMahon. Honda·moumed Rob Brown earned the top l25cc Pro honors after first moto winner Doug O'Donnell DNF the second round on his Suzuki. Suzuki pilot Brem Blount chased Brown to the flag in the second moLO LO finish the day in second overall ahead of David Hussey on a Suzuki. Suzuki rider Kayo Knight rode a consistent race in the Open Imermediate class, topping the field \Vith two second-place finishes. Honda rider Paul Huffman putLOgether a 3-4 day to earn second overall while Scott Wallenberg pushed his CR480 to a convincing second moLO victory LO finish third overall. • Results OPEN PRO: I.
