Nighttime racing is the way to go and every Friday there is plenty of action under the lights at Indian Dunes. Tonight the California Racing Club had their turn of running the races on the International track. Those who came enjoyed the cool evening that allowed one to wear just a T-Shirt all evening. One of the houest races of the evening was the 125cc Novice cl~ss, where Joe Clancy and Brian Felix were preuy evenly matched. Clancy took the big victory as Felix g.ot hung up in a second molO collisIOn. Felix is one of the many Amateurs who is receiving some help from BTS Lubricants. Felix took his Yamaha to the first molO lead to fend off his contender Clancy. Scou Michael took his Suzuki, from Suzuki of Van Nuys, and raced lO a third behind Clancy. From behind came Paul Thompson who held off "Racin'" Jason Davenport. There were 14 riders in this class and that was enough to create a tight squeeze at the first turn in the second moto. Felix was one rider who got hung up at this point and this hurt his tally. Joe Clancy had a good position but he was not the leader. This time Julian Gruerra was the leading rider..Gruerra had a poor seventh place finish in the first moto and improved greatly this time. Clancy trailed him the entire time but wasn't able to make the pass. Thompson and Michael were after Clancy. When all was done Clancy was the overall winner and the only top rider who finished the same in both motos. The 4-3 tally of Thompson lal}ded second over Michael. Felix and Gruerra.
