Yamaha rider 'Chuck Palmgren finished second, -while Kenny Roberts (Yam) recovered from a bad tankslapper on the second lap and charged back for third at the finish. Gary Jones (Hon) and Pierre KaIsmakers (Yam) moved closer to AMA - National Motocross Championships with class wins in the Sligo, Kentucky, round of the series. Maico , rider llich Eiresterlt was runner-up to Jones in the 2505, and Kawasaki rider Al Baker finished third. In the 500s, it was CZ·mounted John DeSoto finishing second over Suzuki teamster Mike I Runyard. ~ 00 Danny Storbeck: 3-Nafl. At a CRC motocross at Indian Dunes, Mike Hannon, Dick Miller and Dave Hetzler finished 1-2-3 in the Vets class all on Bultacos.
