9-11 class. Watkins moved his very
trick Yamaha 60 up and displaced
Cody Marek's Kawasaki for second.
Watkins reeled in Jackson and the
two began a baule that belied their
tender years. Both riders are tall for
60cc bikes, and their riding styles
were quite like miniature Broc Glovers and David Baileys. Watkins
squeaked past Jackson and launched
his Yamaha about three 60cc bikelengths into the air off of the firtal
jump and did a one-footer jump for
the crowd.
In all, all of the riders present were
a dedicated bunch. A college student
working at the race""headquarters hotel
admitted having reservations about
dealing with a bunch of motorcycle
racers, but said at the end of the week
that she was amazed at the intelligence and manners of the riders.
That's a pretty good comment on our
spK>rt.
