Yamaha's Pierre bumaker! continued his winning ways with a 1-2
victory in the 500cc National. Peter
Lamppu returned to the Kawasaki
camp and placed second overall ahead
of c:z rider Stne Stackable. Karsmakers' Yamaha teammate Tim Hart
scored his first National win with a
victory in the 250cc National over
Husky's Bob Grossi and Honda's
,cary Jones.

Yamaha's Hakan Andersson clinched
the 250cc World Motocross Championship with a pair of molO wins in
the Finnish round. Heikki Mikkola
and his factory Husky combined
fourth- and third-place finishes for
second overall. American Jim Pomeroy (Bul) appeared to have second
overall sewn up, but fell on the last
lap and dropped to sixth.
In a speedway race in Sacramento,
California, Alan Christian bested Rick
Woods to win the Scratch main event,
but could only manage a runner-up
finish in the Handicap main behind
Butch Corder.
Jim Holley rode a Yamaha to win the
Mini class of a CRC motocross at
Indian Dunes. In the same event,
M.aico rider Matt Bilton topped
Yamaha pilot Jeff BliI for the 250cc
Senior win.
Women scored a pair of runner-up
finishes in TT scrambles action at
Perris Raceway in southern California.ln the lOOcc Novice class, Dorothy
, Rowe finished second lO Richard
Shook, while Liz Pettit placed one
position behind 125cc Novice winner

British/Nordic Final, the semi final
