Watkins moved his very trick Yamaha 60 up and displaced Cody Marek's Kawasaki for second. Watkins reeled in Jackson and the two began a baule that belied their tender years. Both riders are tall for 60cc bikes, and their riding styles were quite like miniature Broc Glovers and David Baileys. Watkins squeaked past Jackson and launched his Yamaha about three 60cc bikelengths into the air off of the firtal jump and did a one-footer jump for the crowd. In all, all of the riders present were a dedicated bunch. A college student working at the race""headquarters hotel admitted having reservations about dealing with a bunch of motorcycle racers, but said at the end of the week that she was amazed at the intelligence and manners of the riders.
