Mazzacane does it one
more time at Ridgecrest

RIDGECREST, CA, JULY
2~
For the second week in a row
Mike Mazzacane (Part's Plus/
Oakley Jaw) charged from the
middle of the pack to capture
the Scratch main at Ridgecrest Speedway Saturday night
The main lineup was like a who's
who of Ridgecrest Speedway, pining
Mazzacane against Bob Ou, Andy
Northrup and "Fast" Eddie Castro.
Castro took the gate from the pole
but he quickly relinquished the lead
to On on the back chute on the opening circuit Mazzacane, coming out
of the gate in third, took second from
Castro on lap two and then passed
Ott in the same bend he did last week
when he captured both main events.
Ott chased Mazzacane the rest of the
way, but there would be no catching
the fast Riverside youngster this night
as he opened up a five-length lead.
Northrup ended up riding home third,
with Castro rounding out the field.
Ott finally captured his first Ridgecrest win as he swept the Handicap
side of the program. "Crashwall"
Cardona took the lead on the start
from the 10-yard line over Mark
Weaver and Ott (Two Guys from
England/Debbie Ott jaw). Weaver
moved into the top spot by the end of,
lap one with Ott and Castro also following suit in the race for the lead.
Weaver looked set to win his first
Ridgecrest ma'in but he went wide in
turn four, allowing On to gas it
through for the lead. Castro and Northrup also got by Weaver but they
were unable to close the gap on the
"Radical One," who took the checkere? by a wide margin.
