Over 110 riders were in auendance for the race, which was delayed slightly in the morning by passing rain showers. In the Professional ranks, two new winners in the series emerged in the 125 and 250cccategories. Rice Cycles' Wade Rice. captured the overall win in the I25cc division, while Kawasakimounted Benny Norfolk took the 250s. In the Open ranks it was again Dave Molder, also aboard a Rice Cycles Honda, walking away with both molOs and the overall, as he has been doing most of the season. In 250cc action, Norfolk took the holeshot in molO one, with Molder, Billy SlOrk, Greg Shevlin and Curt Hyde behind. Shevlin wem down in the second corner, giving Stork the runner-up slot ahead of Molder. The leading trio freight-trained around the emire molO, with Norfolk well in command and Stork unable to advance. Moto two saw Curt Hyde grab the holeshot ahead of SlOrk, Molder and Norfolk. In the second turn, Molder bumped Stork while trying to pass, and Stork responded in the next corner by ramming Molder and taking both himself and Molder out of the com· petition. That left Norfolk in the runner-up slot ahead of Shevlin and Lynn Hyde, but out from Curt Hyde was running a smooth, consistem race. Hyde never lost comrol of the molO, and came across with his first moto win of the season ahead of Norfolk, bilt it was Norfolk with the lOp overall spot ahead of Hyde, Shevlin, Lynn Hyde and Kevin Forrester.
