Adamo hustled hi s way to the lead right off the start in the Battle of th e Twin s final. J oey Mills, who held seco nd on the o pen ing lap, cras hed in th e hair p in tum as th e field began lap two and, after severa l auempts 10 sta rt th e bike, pushed it back 10 th e pi ts. By the end of lap five, Adamo had a five-second cus hion o n Emde. T un stall , Ro n Sbo rdon e a nd Bill Atk inson foll ow ed. Ex pert Mod ified class leader Madison Cox was in sixth with Mark Heiser, th e Amateur Mod ified class leader , behi nd. Stu Beat son, th e Stoc k class leader was in 12th. The average speed a t th e end of five laps was 90.926 mph. Churc h was back in th e pits o n lap seven with sponsor Don Tilley an d H -D's Don H abermehl doi ng some furious work o n th e cl utch whi le Church waited. Adamo opened up a seven-second gap on Emde by th e halfw a y flags as th e field began lap eight. Tunstall was way behi nd and followed by Sbordon e, H eiser, Mills, Atkin son, Chris Wyckoff and Devin Bartley. Adamo was averaging 89.84 mph and had lapped th rough all but th e top nine. Church was back in th e pi ts. Adam o conti nued 10 tick off la ps like cloc kwork. Church , h opin g 10 collect some points was back in act ion after his th ird p it stop. Adamo too k th e win com forta bly with a nearly If-second margin over Emde. Tustall and Sbordon e foll owed and were th e only riders not to be lapped by Adamo. The GP class win went to Adamo with Cox taking Expert Modified a nd H eiser on top in Amateur Modified . The Stock win went 10 Beatso n .
