Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA has announced that Ford Motor Credit Company will provide retail financing for certain motorcycles sol d by Yamaha dealers. Yamaha USA president Takeshi Kimura and M erle J . Karst, sen ior vice presi de nt / direct o r, reported w ith Ford Credit chairman James W . Ford and president Kenneth Whipple that their companies will establish a Motorcycle Retail Finance Plan . Over 1,600 Yamaha dealers may participate in the Plan beginning sh ortly. Yamaha and Ford Credit officials said that new Yamaha motorcycles having an engine displacement of 400cc or greater will be included under the Plan for Ford Credit f inancing. Locally, the Plan will be coordinated through Ford Credit's 1 4 1 sal es finance offices and through Ya maha's dealers. We're told that SuperStation owner T ed Turner gave producer Ken Squire an audience share figure that he expected the March 13 telecast of the Daytona 200 to hit. The show reportedly exceeded that mark by 20% and Squire and T urner are working o ut the detai ls of future telecasts of motorcycle racing. We'll keep you posted.
