T he firs t turn was the closest a ny o f th e riders wo u ld co me to Mol der as i t turned o ut, as he u sed eve ry lap to increase hi s lea d ove r th e seco nd place battle between Bicek an d O lsen. T h ey were ri gh t, but predict ions a bo u t th e closeness of th e race were underesti ma ted. T he M in i Junior class wa s a two mo to handlebar-to-h andlebar go wi th a pho to finish betwee n Mich ael Kru eger a nd Judd j oi e, with Krueger edging J o ie for the win . C la yton Bat es pursu ed th e leaders for a strong th ird pl ace fini sh . The 80cc Sen ior class was Team Clay a ll th e wa y, with o lder brother " Bu lle t Bob" edging " Bad Chad" for first. The n ext three places were a toss -u p until Mike Moore , Andy Em bree a n d Chris H ayes pulled o u t th eir respect ive finish es a t th e checkered £lag. The crowd-p leas ing l25 cc class was led ga te-to-c heckered -flag by Ed " T h e Book" Cook. Alth ough th e series leaders were out in for ce. th e co m pet it io n was stron ger. Expert powerhouse C lay H oen shell h ad to sett le for a si ngle win a nd two seco nd overa lls . Not bad, but o n ma n y da ys H oe n shell sweeps all th ree Expen classes. In the 125cc Expert class, Dennis Daft fought off H oenshell's best efforts fo r a hard- earned first overa ll. A co nsistent win ner in the Amateur ra n ks last year, Daft is becoming a major co m petitor in th e Expert class th is yea r. In the 250cc ran ks the o rde r was reversed as H oe n sh el l's experie nce p aid o ff an d he took the overa ll win with Daft close behind. In the O pe n Exper t clash.
