O R, AP R . 10 Yamaha-su pport ed .Ted Holt aced both fast -paced 125cc P rofessional motos under dismal , uncertain skies at Clarks Branch Raceway. Snow co vered the hill sid es earl y in th e morn in g but yielded to partiall y su n n y weather , making for superb raci ng co ndi tio ns at the so uthern Oregon track. H onda rider Rick Bault (Ho n -Yam o f Roseburg ) ro d e uncontested to I-I wins in th e 250cc P ro a nd Sk eet H ise did th e sa me in O pen Pro action. Twelve Mini Junior rid ers kicked off th e day 's program wi th Mo nt y Spa uldi ng p u rri ng h is Ro seb u rg H onda in to th e lead over Darren Davis (Davis Cycle Su p p ly/ Ka w) an d Darin Clayto n. In 125cc Pro ac tio n , Holt put h is Yama ha into the lead at th e drop of th e gate to lead a field of eigh t onto th e tacky turf, Lonn y Sayles (Yam of Springfield) and n ew Pro Steve Nel son ( Ya rn -H e n of Rosebu rg ) filled the 2-3 slo ts as th e event got underway. Holt, fresh o ff a top-20 fin ish at th e I25cc Nation al ope ner in Hangtown, wa s sty ling o u t Iroru a n d hungry for a win. Holt a nd Say les had a bri ef bailie for first un til H ol t p u ll ed a way from th e p esk y local r iders a nd took the che ckers for th e win. The second outing had Sayl es tak e co m ma nd a n d lead Nelson and Hol t for th e first four laps. until H ol t moved past.
