VOICES Just the facts, ma'am Crowd control -J ust a not e to let Class C C know ans a bo u t a p roblem th at has become a real do wn er at th e new Sacra me nto mile ra ce. The last couple of years , it seems as though th e promot ers have decided th a t barricades C r cro wd control o eithe r cos t too much or were not necessary . Barricades had al ways been sta nda rd at San J ose, and up till th e last two years, at Sacramento . If yo u were there April 16 and had a ny grandstand seat, th en yo u sa w onl y hal£ a race due to th e general adm ission ticket holders lining th e fen ce at least five deep and tot ally b locking th e vi ew o f th e Cr ont straightaway. If the Agaj anians are going to let th is happen eac h year, th en they sh ould advertise the race as being a half mile, because that's a ll you cou ld see! As a true Class C C (since '56) and an as a local deal er wh o spe nt money adv ertising in th e program a nd al so purchased two box- seat sectio ns C or m y em p loyees a nd frie nds. I must p rot est ! If there is no crowd co nt ro l in th e 1984 mil e, th en we sha ll not re turn in '85! If it is a ma tter of overhea d, I would g lad ly-pay h igher prices C ticket s or than to be chea ted out of ha l£ a race. RI CK WHITEACR E Ora ngeva le Cycle Ora ngevale, CA Where's CAMA?
