MAR. 27 Matt Lindsey and Albert Firestine com manded the attention of all present today as they went head to head in AztecRaceway 's 125cc Ex pert cla ss o n a tra ck that was cove red with eigh t inches o f snow on ly a few da ys before. On a tackv track, Firestine ra ced to a win in th e fir st moto of th e da y by O U Irunn ing Lindsey a nd a host o f good 125cc ra cers. It looked as th ough L indsey wa s go ing to chase Firestine a ll day, but Albert took th e h olesh ot in th e seco nd ra ce, o n ly to ta ke a header on th e fir st j u m p . Lindsey avo ided Firestin e a nd too k th e lea d wh ich he never relinquish ed . However. in tru e ch ampionship tradition, Al bert jumped back on h is Yam aha a nd managed to take a fifth in th e moto for a second overall beh ind Lindsey. An Deh o ff took third for th e da y with finish es o f fifth and seco nd, respectively. The 250cc Experts a lways p u t o n a sh ow, a nd today wa s no excep tion . With riders like Boo Stichter, Randv 0 Warren a nd Terry Kyle in wheel 1 wh eel competition, th e action is fast a nd exci ting. Boo ca me out on top for th e day with a second place fini sh in hi s first rnoto, and th en so me great racing ea rned him th e flag fir st in th e second race. Warren took second overa ll with fini sh es of first and seco nd. Warren al so took second overall in th e O pen Expert cla ss beh ind Mike Knupp. Wh ether Randy is wea ri ng th e number th ree pl a te in th e 250cc Experts or number 45 in th e Open cla ss, he is o ne to ugh rider.
