Schw artz fin all y p icked up his fir st triumph of th e weekend in event number 5 after he and Ferrell (Ara i/ Vera's Ja w) exchanged the lead for th e firs t two laps, Cook a lso edg ed by Ferre ll for the second spot o n la p three. Bast set it on cruise co ntrol in event number 6 and was unc ha lle nged until he went wide o n the final corner allowing Sigalos to make a cha rge th at ca me up one bi kele ngth short at the checkered flag. The rider who took ho me th e lion 's sha re of the cash Frida y, Sha wn Mora n (S:rP/ Ara i Godd ), picked u p his firs t win of the da y in event 7 when he took Faria by th ree len g th s with bro th er Kell y claim ing third. Sigalos put a smile o n J ohn Berr y's face, h is boss from En gl and, who was in a ttendance, when he led hom e Faria in event nu mber 9. " Booga loo" d id it aga i in event number 10 o ver Brad Oxley (J oe J ones Dist. Wes). Bast led it all the way in event number I I wit h "Cookie" tryi ng all of his tri cks to get by bu t, settling for second. Ferre ll closed o ut the fir st half of th e program by taking an elbow-to-elbow decision over La nce Kin g (J .T.lPJ I Wes) in event nu mb er 12. Bast made it th ree in a row wh en he defea ted h is arch rival Alan Christian (ST P / Seer Good ) in event number 13, with Ferrell winning event n um ber 11 after a n early duel with Faria , who ended up bit in g the d ust. Shawn Mora n had event number 15 loc ked up and wa s looking Ior another jewel for his cro wn wh en he crashed hea vilv into the rum four crashwa ll. Unfort una tely the " Miracle Worker's" luck ra n o u t as he suffered a possibl e broken forearm. The win went to Schwartz who was a distant second whe n th e red came out. Cook cap tu red the win in th e.best r race of th e da y in event number 16. Sigalos gra bbed the lead at the tapes from th e number two slot and led until the fin al lap wh en Cook forged hi s way by. Sigalos a nd Kelly Moran sand wiched Cook a t th e fin ish with theex-Ipswich rid er coming up inc hes ahea d in th e three-abrea st p hoto finish . Cook ca me rig h t back in event n umber 17 for hi s six th wi n of th e weeken d foll owed by Gen e.Woods (7Up/ La ncer Godd ) wh o was no t havin g o ne of hi s bett er days. Reserve rid er Guy Erm ol enko (Ca ptured Sea Wes) go t th e ga te from th e pol e in event number 19. Siga los was ge tting ready to make h is move on th e out side of th e ba ck ch ute on lap one .wh en Ermolenko wen t wide, slowing hi mself a nd Siga los and a llowing Oxley and Ferr ell to breeze by. Oxley the n whee lied comi ng ou t of four, allowing Ferrell a joy ride for th e last th ree laps to win over Ermol enko a nd Sigalos. The two poi nts Sigal os lost co s t hi m a p ossibl e runoff w ith Schwart z a t the day 's end for th e titl e.. Bast closed o u t th e da y with a win over Sch wartz in a classic battle in event number 20. T he win was th e fo urt h in a row for Bast a nd tied him for seco nd wit h Ferrell .
