Assen - a new engine - that I don't know. I've just only heard rumors that it has some kind of exhaust valve in it lik e the Yamaha. I'm just waiting tosee. Bu t I know th ey have a new on e for Assen (T h e Jun e 26 Dutch CPl. With Yamaha you have two teammates - Barry Sheene and Graeme Crosby and th ey' re both doing very well. Yes, Barry's doin g extreme ly well. Probabl y th e best I'v e seen him ride or th e hungriest I'v e ever seen him . He's lo st a lot o f sponsorshi p over th e past three years so I don't kn ow if h e' s hungry or he just has decided to go faster. But he's defin itel y ridin g a lo t harder than h e's ridden in a while. Do you think the link-up with Agos tini h as hel ped Graeme Crosby out as a rider? Well , Craerne's not havin g such a go od year. If yo u ' re look ing a t results h e seems to be OK, but h e's still not considered o ne of the gu ys wh o's going to win a CP. But he's very consistent a nd that 's wha t it takes to finish in th e World Championship standi ngs . But he 's not had a tremendously trouble free season. You can't count anybody out at this point except Ra nd y because he's just not finished any of th e races and th e onl y one he fin ished , hi s bik e wouldn 't start. So he's o u t of th e World Ch ampionship, of course but he still co u ld win a CP if he ge ts going eno ugh . The remainder of the season - how does it look for you as far as the racetracks you have left to run and how they match up? I think H o nda will be extremely com petiti ve a t Assen . I think th at th ey ma y have a n edge o n everybody on th e Iour-cvli nder bikes there. I think th at th e four cvlinde rs will have a n ed ge on th em' in Belgium , and in th e next few CPs. An d then there's Silverstone where you've always gone very well. , . At Silverstone the four cylin ders will have probably the advantage. Yugoslavia I think it's probably a toss -up. Are yo u hap py that Fin land is not in th e sch edule this year? Very happy. The seaso n-e n der at West Germany - how does th e H ockenheim circu it look for bike? . I think that the four cvlinders probably will have the tiniest advantage. You're talking about an advantage. The difference the advantage means is probably a 10th of a second a lap or maybe two-IOths. There's li terally five guys running the same lap time most of the places so when you 're talking about an adv antage, yo u' re . not talking about th e difference between the Honda and the Kawasaki at the Daytona Superbike race. You 're talking a difference of one bikelength at the end of one lap. The Honda is as fast as my motorcycle right now at the right place. At the wrong place it ma y be two bikelengths slower. SOunds like so me close racing. It's the most competitive yea r I've ever seen and the crowds, of course. show it. But I still do not see a hell of a lot of interest coming from America. They' ve got probably the three best riders over there. Of co urse, that's been a problem all along. Speak ing of Am erican interest, are yo u going to be a ble to ma ke it to Lagu na Seca th is year? I'll definitely be in Laguna Seca . It should be a mini 500cc GP wi th Freddie and Randy . , . It's going to be best in the world there. Not all of them but certainly the best. Are yo u goin g to be riding th e V-4 th ere or the sq uare four?
