....... ';';Ve.tara- Aubur. - Na However, the real newsworthy point in ton ight's main was the hard race Buddy was given by Robert Curry. .Curry, who patiently waited for his chanc e i n Fi r st D i v ision , impressively won his heat , came back to win his semi event, took the lead in the main and held it well , riding the pole until turn four on the last lap when Robinson took him on the outside by less than a tire length at the finish. Robinson had the win , but he worked for itl Curry knew he had to prove himself, and he did it. Dave Norman, also in First Division for the first time this season, was third. After much thought, there just are not words to describe the Scratch main. On the first try, Paul Orlandi took the lead , but was down on lap one in turn three with Ron McGill. The red flag was out. On the second try, Orlandi and Robinson were down in turn one out of the gate; I still ha ve not figured that one out, and I don 't think they have ei ther. The red flag was out again. The third try was not destined to be uneventful. McGill went down again on lap two in turn three. Robinson, who at this point had a perfect score care having won all of his events, was if black-flagged by the refereefor rough riding (into McGill), giving Duane f" Yarrow the win. Orlando was second, and McGill was third. The Second Division main was It exceptionally thrilling as Ken Gray reJ' took the lead and battled Kevin French side by side in the turns, ending in a ~. photo finish with the amazing French IT' winning his second Division Two main in as many weeks. He's only , been racing speedway for three weeks and has yet to go home without a trophy. High school teacher Jeff Brown, who originally raced speedway in New York and Indiana, was th ird. In the Third Division main, it was Tom Brenner winning. Rick Stephens was second, Keith Kavanaugh third. . Scott Brant won his third Junior e main in a row . The thrill of the win was marred somewhat by a spectacuJI lar tangle of front and rear tires by Bart Bast, celebrating his 15th birthday , and Darrell Anderson, resulting ;.I, in double somersaults of bikes and riders and anxious moments by at least two Junior mothers. Being the troopers they are, they both walked off the track. John Houston, Jr. was second, and Bobby Hedden was third.
