Johnson romps in Valley of Fire HS By Wayne Gales VAL L EY OF FIRE, NV , MAR. 21 j ack Johnson made it look easy as he took his 490 Maico to an overall win in the Silver City Scramblers hare scrambles. Johnson , who has won three o f the last four Motorcycle Racing Association of Nevada races, appears to be in top form and ready for the up a nd coming Las Vegas 400, Apr. 18. The Silver City Scramblers found a great place for th e rac e, just on the o u tskirt of th e Valley of Fire state park. The area is still a little damp from recent rains, and was almost dust free. Also th e racers got a real eyefu l of some of the most beautiful desert in Nevada. Second overall was as nailed do wn as first as " Bad Brad" Hilton put his Kawasak i West KX250 in to the number two spot and never looked back . Nevada Yamaha 's Bobby Davidson held onto third until late in the race when Glenn Wischmeyer took over to tak e th e checkered flag. Fifth overall and first 125cc wa s Todd Timmons and Larry Job took top Amateur honors with sixth overall _ . on a Husky. Floyd Bradley really bounced back from a bad getoff two weeks ago and brought home seventh place, second 125cc. First Over 30 was Billy McDaniels, and Ken Gu io emerged victorious in th e Ov er 38 ranks ov er Ron Loomis after a vicious battle that left both riders exhausted.
