(Above) Johnson's fast 2-3 rides netted him second 250cc Pro behind Hansen, 10 fell on the next lap and dropped to third as Hansen regained the lead, and Hannah moved to challenge. Hannah set up Hansen halfway through th e moto and took over the lead. Yamaha Pro Support rider Rick Johnson powered into the top five, reel ed in Wosick first, then Gibson. One lap later and Johrison flashed past Hansen and nearly ca ug h t Hannah before the checkers came out. Suzuki Canada rider Ross Pederson put on an excellent late moto charge to finish fourth ahead of Gibson and Wosick. Gibson and Hannah dragged to th e first tu rn as the second moto started. but both riders overshot the corner, and Hansen slipped underneath to ta ke the lead. H annah bobbled an d dropped to ninth as Pederson m oved into third behind Hansen and Gibson, and Johnson mov ed into fourth. Hannah quickly ber serked his way back to th e leading four riders but tangled with Johnson and went down, badl y bruising his an kle. Hannah rem ounted. but the leaders wer e far in th e d istance, a nd th e Hurricane head ed slowly to th e pits. Gibson sli p ped past H ansen in the final laps, but wi th Hannah ou t, Hansen had the overa ll an d the series lock ed up. J ohnson finish ed third to earn second overall while Gibson settled for third overall ahead of Pederson, Wosick and Honda support rider Jim Tarantino. Hansen was philosphical about his win. " I got the breaks. " he noted before heading over to Hannah's truck to inspect Hannah 's swollen foot. "I thought it was all over after the first race so I just wanted to do the best 1 could for today , but things went m y wa y, and 1 won the seri es. You just can never give up!" • Results 500 PRO: 1.
