At th e start o f the second showdown, Rodgers grabbed the h o leshot wit h Orescanin a nd Zitterkopf ho t in h is tracks. O rescanin 's 1-3 com bo ena bled him to ta ke th e overall. Second went to R odgers whil e Ma zzacane ca p tured th ird. Probabl y th e most exci ting racing of th e ni ght was produced by th e 125cc In ter media te class. At th e sta rt of th e first m ot o it was R ob ert Fely (Ya m) who gra bbed th e early lead close ly pursued by Vo n Jones (Yam), Bru ce H arcro w a nd Mark Deck er (Yam) . Fely devel o ped a slight lead within a few laps but both H arcrow a n d Deck er wer e o n th e move wh en th ey sn uc k by J ones. Decker th en pressu red Fe ly, soon taking over th e lead. Fourth-place H a rley Law ren ce (Yam) wanted in on so me of th e acti on so he passed H arcrow. Bu t H arcro w qu ickl y retaliated a lap la ter. With tw o laps remai ni ng Fely d ropped o u t, hand in g seco nd to H a rcrow. Decker took th e win foll owed on Berner (Yam). by H arcrow and C Mo to two was as exc iti ng as, if not more exci ti ng th an , th e first. The four lead ers battled it o ut from start to finish .
