There was Steve Wise, running very well , adding life to a dying sport and the consensus of the crowd was that Honda told Wise to cool it because Mike Kidd is number one, Wise added so much to the National. It 's been several years since I've seen the crowd love what was happening, Dirt track (in our part of the U,S,) has faded so badly that it ~as very refreshing to see his performance, AMA and America: Get off your duff and realize that MX can add life to a dying sport, And to Steve Wise: A job well done. JANIE STANFIELD WATERS living, TX P .5 . Bet we see more of the Pro MXers trying their hand at IT. I know the fans would love it. EI Mirage improvement As each year goes by the residents of El Mirage Dry Lake find an . ever increasing amount of recreauo~l vehicle use , What started as a feeling of "W ell it 's only one percent causing problems" has grown 10 a cry of exaspera tion, Out and out- disregard for private property, destruction of fences , ,either for access or firewood , tr espassmg of privately owned land and break-ins all these things are starting to have an effect on the area. Most all of our residents came from the city and realiz e the need for outdoor recreation. It is the feeling of the El Mirage Improvement Associ~tion that if something is not done to bnng a stop to this type of action by the RV users themselves , then the community will have to take legal action to curtail the use of the area . We hold a meeting every first Friday of the month at the EMIA building at 7:!lO p .m. and any interest ed persons able to spea k and be heard . We hope that a line of communication can be set up, and all parties will come to an understanding, JAMES G. STACEY President, EMIA St , Rt, Box 148A Adelanto.
