Glover grabs glory afSSM By Terry Whytal ORAN GE , CA , J AN . 23 Team Yamaha's Broc Glover dueled with Suzuki factory star Mark Barnett in this week's Sadd leback Saturday Motocross 250cc Pro race with Glover coming out on top of moto two after finishing second to the Bom ber in round one. Barnett and Glover took the m uddy track in stride as each rider blasted the short ened course in the low 1:50s . Barn ett fell on the downhill but remounted and blasted past Glover to take the first m oto checkers as Suzuki rider Richard Sands followed Glover to the finish line. B~rnett and Glover swapped the lead in race two with Glover finally moving into the winning position for the last time a bout mid -way through the race. Barn ett stayed close bu t the one-line ruts and la pped riders kept Barn ett in the runner-up positi on . Glover was the overall winner while Barnett had to settle for th e number two share of the purse money. Sands picked up a credi ble third over all while Mike Monaghan powered his ' Yamaha to fourth and J im Gilson round ed ou t the top five on a Yamaha. Suzuki rider T im Foster top ped the 125cc Interm ediate class . desp ite strong pressure from Yamaha mounted Chris Heinch and Suzuki pilot Jim Cobha m . Foster was first to the checkered flag in both races while Heinch challenged from second-place in round one, and Cobham pressured the leader in mo to two.
