Bob Grossi took t he overall win a nd Mark Black well won two out of th ree m ot os, although running out of gas in the first dropped him to fourth overall. In th e 250c c class, Maico-mo unted easterner J im Weinert copped the victory . Bob Sanders won five even ts in a TT/ short track event held at Trojan Speedway . In the other two races run in th e program, Sanders finished second . An ACA motocross at Saddleback Park saw the debut of a prototype Kawasaki motocrosser , pilot ed by B r u ce Ba r on . CO l troubles in one rnoto kept Ba ron out of the victory circle (the 500 cc Expert class was won by Ga r y Jones), but the machine did break out of the traditional Kawasaki mold with a 450cc piston port engine. Speaking of factory MXers making a debut , Brian My erscough won the 100ccJunior class. Steve H ernandez, an 18-year-old northern California rider, topped in door short track races in both New York's Madison Square Garden and Phila delphia's Spectrum.
