carburetor. But we redesigned the cylinder
porting layout and the expansion chamber and
gavethe capacitor discharge ignition a new
advance curve to broaden the powerband.
And our new dual-flow water-cooling system
fights the heat that can sap your horsepower
in the late going of a 40 minute moto.
Most importantly, the CR250R is fast even
in the roughest sections thanks to a reworked
suspension system. The massive new 43 mm
air-adjustable forks have three compression
damping adjustments. W gave our Pro-Link"
e
progressive rear suspension new linkage
ratios, new works-type valving and added
~ ~ four compression damping adjustments.
'Andthe new aluminum-alloy extruded
swing arm pivots on needle bearings. It all
adds up to a full foot of wheel travel up front
and 11. 7 inches in the rear with 13.4 inches of
ground clearance.
And while its a mere 219.4pounds light,
its definitely no creampuff. Not with a semidouble cradle chrome moly frame, aluminum
engine mounting brackets, a tough new fivespeed gearboxand a new sturdy works-type
shifting mechanism.
W beefed up the wheel assemblies with
e
new alloy rims and redesigned hubs with
magnesiumalloybacking plates and brake
shoe bodies. Y they're lighter than ever, too.
et
We even mounted the clutch drum on needle
bearings.
But despite allthat tough hardware, its
easy to stop the CR250R. Just grip the forged
aluminum dog-leg lever and the lightweight
double-leading shoe front brake provides
swift, steady stopping power. It lets you stuff
the bike farther into corners to save precious
seconds.

Thats why Roger said it was the best
250 cc productionbike around. Andwhen
Roger says it, you can take it to the bank.
Why not buy the 250

Before you spend your money on a new
motocross bike, think about howmuchRoger
DeCoster has already invested in the 1982
Honda CR250R.
Not onlythe time and effort it took to help
us develop it, but his good name. So you can
put a lot of stock in whatever he says about
the CR250R. Andhe has some very impressive things to say about it.
After he rode it, Roger had trouble telling
the CR250R from our works bike. In fact, its
frame geometry is so advanced, he said the
riding position is better than our works bikes.
