Mota two saw Herman once again steal the holeshot with Dunlap and Johnson to follow . But the race could of ended there as they were to finish the same positions. Upland's biggest po int producer was Suzuki-mounted Pat Weber. Weber gathered wins in both the 250cc and 500cc Senior classes finishing both times ahead of Redland's Tom Hodgin (Suz) . In the 250cc Senior class Hodgin traded seco nd place finishs with Esperanza 's Bill Scott, but Hodgin's second in moto two bested Scott's 2-3 score. When the gate dropped for the first moto in the 250cc Pro class it was Rodney Brand (Suz) who shot into the lead in front of Rick Rodgers (Kaw), John Mazzacane (Suz) and Dan Paulson (Mai) . Brand extended his lead quickly. Rodgers ~as still witin striking distance but Brand held on to take the win. Rodgers followed in second in front of Mazzacane and Paulson. At the start of the all -important second moto it was Brand again who roosted into the lead with Rodgers and Mazzacane in pursuit. However Brand's lead died when Rodgers snuck past the leader during the th ird lap , Rodgers , knowing he had to win th e second moto to take the overall , set a smooth pace to capture the win . Brand held on to second while third went to Mazzacane. Marc Matson (Suz ) combined a 2-1 scor~ to capture the win in the first division of the 125cc Beginner class . Overall went to Denton Weinberg (Suz ) who combined a first -mota win with a third. Bill Weatherill (Hon) tallied a 3-2 combo for third overall . Division two saw T ravis Rob ers on (Suz) t ake command of th e 125cc Beginner class after securing two first pla ce victories. Completing bo th mot as behind Rob ers on was second place finisher T om Brown (Suz). Consistent ridi ng b y Chuck Co llins (Suz) ga ve him third after a 4 ·4 score. Results HIGH SCHOOL . MINI SR: 1.
