By lap four Ward was leading easily while Ricker attempted to hold off Newkirk, who had gotten back in striking distance, and Hammond. Ward let Ricker edge up on him some on the fifth lap when he skyrocketed over the finish line jump and almost m issed the next turn . At the end of moro one. Ward held on to first and Hammond had moved up to second, leaving Ricket in third and Newkirk to fourth. _ The second moto saw Brent Dodson and Jerry La Blanc out around the first corner together till La Blanc eased into the front· runner position. Ricker, Ward and Newkirk followed. By the second lap, Dodson had fallen way b ack to second to last , letting Ricket ta ke his place. Newkirk got by Ward for third on the thi rd lap and went into second place by lap four. La Blanc held onto first by t he checkered flag as New kirk was seco nd and Ricker got third . Results 60: 1.
