Actuall)', the CMC Four-Stroke Championship last week at Carlsbad was more ofan
execution than a war.
The competition never had a chance.
"Radical" Ron Turner led the Honda march, capturing the 500 cc Pro Division aboard an
HPF XR5OOR-engined machine. David Gerig and Phil Larson finished second and third on
their Hondas to complete the sweep.
Brian Showalter captured the 500 Intermediate Class. Pete Eunice
took the 250Junior crown. Jim O'Neals two-pronged attack defeated the
200 Sportsman and Veteran Expert troops. Alan Moore burned the Veteran
Intermediates and Gene Dempsey knocked out the OTJuniors.
All on Hondas.
Which proves one strategy. In a battle offour-strokes, a Honda will
almost always take the flag.
HONDA.
