In the fint moto of the 125cc Pros, Rid Ryan (Yam), Mike Holmes (Suz) and Jeff Jacobson (Yam) battled out the f1nt three laps. On the founh lap, Holmes took Ryan just before the fint set of double jumps. The fifth and sixth laps brought the two into tight battle, and on the eighth lap, Holmes By Sue Ellis pulled back and let Ryan take the SACRAMENTO, CA, NOV. 1 lead a~ second moto showed more of Jim Ellis, Eric McKenna and Ellis, Preston, McKenna take tw0 a t Pralrle"7 CI.... Holmes passed Benincasa on the second lap and then . . got ngh t on top of Dobb' fiIgh tJng Ins for the lleCond-place spot. At the same time, Tony Lucente (Yam) got on Benincasa's tail for the founh spot. By the sixth lap, Ryan was way ahead of everybody else followed by Holmes. There was total pressure for founh,1ifth and sixth place, Dobbins, Benincasa and Lucente battling it out to the limits. On the last lap, Lucente slid sideways into a whoop-de·doo and Yer fldownew 0hard his hathendgroundleban: H~n~~g onto . e u"", Y managed to walk away from that dump, but left the finish for Ryan, Holmes and Casteneda. After an accident which required another ambulance, it was the 250cc Pros on the line. Shawn McConn (Yam) jumped in the lead followed by Larry Wosick (Hon). But by the fourth lap, Wosick switched positions with McConn and soon left the racing far behind him. McConn got second with Damon Webb third. The second moto found the same riden in the same places. Wosick's brother Bob took a fourth. The Open Pros had Jeff Ellsus (Hon) , Kenny Rodriquez (Suz) and Bob Wosick (Hon) hugging the stan. Ellsus took a fa11 during the third lap, letting Rodriquez sneak by. But not for long, as Rodriquez's bike stalled, forcing him to give back the front spot to Ellsus. Tim Alarcon (Yam) rode hard and worked his way up from eighth to second at the finish line. Brett Stevens (Suz) worked his way from last place (because of a collision in the fint tum) to fifth. The outcome was E1Isus, Alarcon (on the "piece of junk" he threw together the night before) and Bob Maninadale (Mai) who worked his way up from seventh postiion. In the second moto and last race of the day, the laps were shortened to nine (fint moto had 12 laps)' because of the shonage of time and sunlight. Stevens led the pack from the stan but Ellsus changed that by taking the lead on the second lap. Rodriquez held third but fell, giving up his spot toJim Domenigbini (Yam).
