Above shows thiS is the right way. drove side by side for two and half Laps before Wilson narrowly pulled a car length at the finish of the first heat of Class two, followed by Sam Arciero in third. In the second heat Cheek put the move to Wilson to win the laurels. Off-Roed ~Wh..1 Spectators witnessed Robbie Lee get the holeshot in Class four, Mike Shor· rows closed up what was a big gap as he pushed Lee, but couldn't pass the Yamaha rider. Lee rode a perfect race for first overall in both heats. Mike Fraynd and Bob Reynolds both raced well and changed positions seveal times, but the first overall in Class three went to Fraynd with his 2-1 score. Class six, Division One trophy went to Scott Gauley. Gauley drove to a perfect score to take the brass and leave Tom Coons' lJ-2 to race the others. Division Two, Paul Nagel and George Terrie traded finish places as Nagel spiced up his evening with a 2-1 over Coons. Another hot race was Class five. Cameron Davidson took first in both heats but Tim Hoy, after a bad start, moved his way to second place with grace and style on his trick suspended Honda 185. Classes eight and seven again exciting as Rob Selvy put his Selvy Performance Honda in the lead to leave Duce Stewart to race with Class seven rider Chris White. White easily took the event in both heats but disqualified due to a protest. This gave hard riding David McNealy and Ken Maler first and second places. Odyssey Class one, Division One, Myron Hemley's 1-2 came out on top followed closely by Dennis Show's 2-lJ. The second heat win went to Dale Grocken, but a sixth place in the first heat could only give him a third overall. Division Two winner was again Debbie Sedillos driving for Dico. Second went to Kenneth Pettoney and third place was Lance Bryson. The wild and crazy Class three driv· ers were on-the·gas going WFO. Bob Morris quickly jumped in the lead in his RPM sponsored Odyssey. Following were Jeff Springman, who pulled off but later joined the race competing with Rory Holladay, and Roberto Cortez. By the halfway point, Morris pulled out a good lead in both heats. Holladay, in the second heat broke an axle, putting him in a tilt position going into the first turn before the straight on the first lap. This left only Morris and Cortez to crosS the: checkered flag in Division One. Division Two went to Gary Reitmas with a 1-1 ride over Steve Griek's lJ-lJ. David Jones was leading the second heal, with two laps to go when he tipped over in a corner leaving Rei tmas to take the victory. Class two, Division One drivers were going for it as Bud Grocken in his HRD Racing Odyssey, bested the field by beating Tim Cheek. Division Two had Sam Areiero out front taking victories in both heats ahead of Bryan King who finished lJ-lJ. Ron Burn concluded the races by roosting the other drivers in Class five taking a I-I score and overall. It wasn't too long ago that ATVs were just fun and recreational. But now with the new innovated ideas, these three-wheelers are coming with as much horsepower and are as fast as motocross machines, and handle decently over the rough. Well, remember a few years ago when you would look at the new motocrossers and say, "Now what more can they possibly change?" Three-wheeler fans and racers can only dream and be patient. . . . .
