Over 200,000 motorcycle enthusiasts took in the 68th Paris International Cycle and Motorcycle Show which was held from October
2-11 at the Exhibition Center, Porte de Versailles, in the capital of
France. Over 500 exhibitors, a 10% increase over last year's show,
displayed their products. 305 of the exhibiting firms were French, 97
were Italian, 31 British, 19 German, 10 Spanish, 14 American, and 19
Japanese. Some of the highlights of the show are pictured on these
pages.
BMW's R 65 LS lists for 24,740 francs, or $4,418. It's reported to weigh 407 pounds, do
60 mph In 5.8 seconds, and to have a top speed of over 105 mph.
Honda's CB11 00 RC will be available In Europe in December and
carries a price teg of $7,791. '
The French made BFG Oddyssee Oats for tlUioo, has a cIIIImed
weight of 583 pounds, and has a 1.298cc foUr-cyllnder engine.
This one is supposed to last for '16 years. It's Husqvema's Automatic 2IiO MP,
with four speeds and made to carry 440 pounds of cargo. ,
Yamaha prominently displayed their XZ 5&0, a V-twin with watercooling. Nota the large radiator.
