Chandler moved UP. past McKenna, and it looked as if CbandIer would repeat 1ut week's win by passing the whole crowd. McKinney forfeited the lead on the second lap when something went' ~ with hit Kawuaki. He rode into the pitS, and Wood took the lead with Chandler in hot Suit. Chandler was . Wood closely at the end of the secon lap, and the two diced bard on Iapl three and four. On lap five a front wheel wheelie put Chandler over the ban, though. and a trium:rbant Wood wheelied down the infiel straight and then acl'Olll the finish, followed by Chandler, McKenna and Robertson. Wood was barely off his l!50 before the Open Pro clasa was on the line, two motos after the l!50cc clasa. Wood was fint off the line in both motos. fol· lowed closely by McKenna to the fmish to make the second moto a thriller. If McKenna could get by Wood, he'd take the Open clasa win. The two were neck and neclr. from the start, but Wood held him off to the finish. Peter Phillis turned in a con· sistent 4-4 to take third overall, followed by KeDy Barry with a 6-5. Steve Arena took third in the fint moto, but bad to drop out of the second moto when he ended up on the bottom of a fint·lap pileup in the uphill S·tum. Chandler repeated 1ut -s', win in the 1l!5cc motos by walking away from the padr. on the first lap of each moto. Greg Micbalea 10lt his ho1eshot advantqe to Chandler in the uphill Stum, but kept the gas on while Jerome Heiberger and Jay Cook diced for third. Chandler took auch a emnnand. ing lead that he raorted to spicing up the action with some IUper CI'OIII,upl off the grandstand jump. Chandler's crowd.pleuing stunts drew the atten· tion away from Heiberger and Cook, who IIWllpped places twice before taking the checken with Heiberger ending up third. Heiberger grabbed the holeshot in the second moto, but lost the lead to Chandler in the uphill S·tum then slid out in the tum Just before the second lap finish. Mlcbales, Arena, Ken McKenzie and Wood got by before Heiberger's rear tire could hook up again. Arena rode on to pass Michales m=:r and finish to Chandler. This was Danny" 1l!5cc moto win of the lleriea. The Wood and Chandler victories almoat sew up the series in the ()pen and 1l!5cc ~. but there ahoulcf be quite a battle between Wood and Chandler for the l!5Occ clua. R....1ts 10 NOlI: 1.
