They offer the Sprint as a do·it-to-yourself kit, consisting of a heavy duty steel frame and cage with a widened front track for $795. You throwaway the stock Ody frame, cage and fenden, and bolt the remaining parts onto the Sprint. No welding is required. Or, you can buy a completely assembled car which Greenhalgh calls his Honda Sprint for $2.550 outright. Heavy duty independent rear suspension is available for $550. And if Odyssey pow:er isn't enough for you, Greenhalgh offen the custom built Sprint II, with a Fuji ~4Occ or 440cc motor and Comet belt torque ·convener. which he claims will stir the sand at 100 mph. Price of the Sprint II is $4,000. The basic kit adds 40 Ibs. to the stock weight of the Odyssey. This is because it was designed for more protection and strength. Asked if the Sprint had been "crash tested." Dennis said "Yes. My brother is really crazy. He crashed one into an Audi at ~5 mph - did $~50 damage to the Audi and didn't even dent the pipes on the Sprint. Another time he was hit by a Baja Bug." Again, no damage. "The Sprint is almost indestructible," the maker claims. The brothen have been testing their products for two yean now. If you want them to build you one, they require 25% down and a couple of weeks for delivery. Their phone number is (206) 69~-2~11. •
