Suzuki's Jobe came into tbe event with a separated elbow heavily taped, but dropped out of the fint moto and later crashed out of the second. Hudson, meanwhile. rode his Bill Buchka-tuned works Yamaha to a founh in the fllSt moto. In the second moto. Hudson crashed off the stan and came around in 54th place. He then worked up to sixth by moto's end to score the necesary points. "We're just beginning to recover from the big pany last night," said Buchka in a Monday afternoon transatlantic phone call to Cycle News, Kees Van der Ven (KTM) went 1·1 to win the event over Dutch sand specialist Henk Van Mielro. who rode Jobe's spare Suzuki to a 2-2. American Husky rider Mike Guerra turned in a 7-' third overall and was followed by Hudson. Finland's Matti Tarkonnen placed fifth overall, carding a 6-4.
