up the mini high point leader, and at
the last juncture and coming ofT the
last comer, he set the inside line just
right and rolled the throttle to WFO,
nipping out Winkie by an inch at the
checkered. Another great race.
Winkie wasn't having anything to
do with the 100cc Expert class and left
town early taking a big win over Steve
Mayfield, Jon Nunez and Ronnie
Hayes. Dion Chardy won 80cc Novice
and Jeff Bingham held on for the 80cc
Junior win over Shad Johnson.
BiUy Taylor has been moving right
up the pike and won the first of two
taking l!SOcc Novice over Al Separs
before having 360cc Novice all to him·
self for a big double-header. Shaun
Reyna got chased for the l!SOcc Junior
show by Red Needham, but the
Yamaha kept the pace up, and the
Jorgy Suzuki had to settle for second in
front of Scott Dickerson.
Dave Boyles led out l!SOcc Expert on
the Spinetti Honda, but the awesome
power of the Doug Chandler KXl!SO
was even better than last night, and
Doug read the script just right in pick·
ing the place to pass. Earlier in the
evening, Doug was riding a close third
when one rider bumped and laid out
another, but the young IS-year-old
has so much sense, he saw it before it
got nasty and got around a certain
crash. Chandler went on to win big
with Boyles second over Bruce Johnson
on the Yamaha Sports Center YZ with
fourth to Joe Knight on the ex-Jimmy
Filice Yamaha.
Roland Hollis won SOOcc Novice
over newcomer Bill Buhlman. Don
Stommel had SOOcc Junior his way as
Jeff Martins and Brian Dennis were
more enthralled with who got second,
and Martins had the deciding edge at
the checkered.
In SOOcc Expert, it was Dave Boyles
all the way with Aaron Hill holding off
the preying of Mike lnderbitzen. Boyles
missed the show behind as first young
Aaron would make a move, and Inderbiuen would try to fill the gap. Doug
Chandler was watching it all trying not
to spin the tire on his Suzuki too much.
but everytime he could get a wheel in,
one of the other two would do something crazy and he would have to
back out. What a showl
