in Bellingham. W A this weekend only
to have Mother Nature rain on the
parade. Needless to say, running into
the Blaggs from Central Point, OR at
a rest area on the way home saved a
really disappointing weekend as we
learned about Junior Pro rider Rich
Word's Sunday 'IT race at Sunny
Valley.
Sunny ValJey Speedway rests about
one·quaner rmle off Intentate 5 in a
shaded grove of trees which provides
extremely cornfonable spectating.

racing there was!
California boys Steve and Chris having been smothered by an overabundance of shon traclr.s in nonhern
California - both enjoyed at least one
chance to warm up for the 'IT
National in Michigan on a 'IT course.

The fastest guy on the track all day

and money race. Fresno's Steve Hill
made his pass stick for a strong second
over Roben Harban in the Open main
while Troy Duncan chased Word for
the second in the money race. Chris
Carr fmally hooked up his 250 Jorgy's
Can-Am and passed two riden for
third place money.
In lightweight action, Steve Hill had
battled all day with Granu Pass rider
Charlie Mitchell as Charlie made a
neat pass to take the trophy race, but
Steve followed with a good tactical
main win over Rod Bexil while
Mitchell was hung up in traffic.
Chris Carr showed off his National

go_ Poor staru were a nemeisi all day
for Chris as Bryan Woolard grabbed
the trophy dash and Robbie Blagg the
heat, but Chris moved by Blagg first
and then Woolard in the main for the
win. Robbie made a last-ditch pass on
the white flag for second. He also
survived a somersault in the 200cc heat
to nab both the trophy dash and main
in that one. Ken Percy slipped in front
of dash winner Jeff Cook to nail the
250cc A main.
