almost three laps. Casper got by again and started pulling away for the win. Dean Adkins moved up to challenge Draskovich and eventually get by for second. That was also the order of the overall positions: Casper, Adkins and Draskovich. A lot of heavy action characterized the combined 125cc and Open Pro event. Bill Olsen, Mark Ellis and Eric MacCracken came around leading the pack at the end of the fint lap. Bob Ken got in front of MacCracken briefly but Mac got back and went right up and past Ellis to challenge Olsen. By the end of lap two. MacCracken was really leaning on Olsen and the pressure worked on the next lap and MacCracken came around in fint. He began a furious ride to stretch out his lead. MacCracken has been plagued by a series of misfortunes at this track and it was beginning to look as if he finally had them whipped. It was not to happen today. Immediately after receiving the halfway sign from the finish flagger. MacCracken went down hard, wrenching his knee and putting him out for the day. Olsen jumped back into the lead, only to be passed a half lap later by Ellis who went on for the win. While all this was going on, Chris Swank got by holeshooter Rich Collins on the fint lap to lead the 125s. By moto's end. Swank not only won the 12Sec class. but had moved up to second overall behind Olsen. Tom Browne led the Open Pros in moto TWO from the start to lap seven without much trouble. but when trouble came, it came hard. Browne went down and almost everyone scampered past. He finally got up and by the end of the race had worked his way back to second behind the leader and eventual winner, Bob Ken. Ken was also the overall winner for the day and Browne was second. Chris Swank again ran away from the rest of the one-two-fives to make it a clean sweep. The fint moto of the 250cc Pros consisted of Troy Manning being chased by Richard Bunch for 10 laps. Usually they were so close together. it looked lilte they were tied, but Bunch could not cut the cord and get past. At the drop of the gate in mota two, Bunch was off fint and it looked like he had the holeshot. Manning came up crazy fast on the inside and skidded around the tum fint. From there on it was a repeat of moto one, the TWO Yamahas of Manning and Bunch pushing each other out ahead of everyone else. The only one who could even keep the two yellow bikes in sight was Da1le Hammond and his Kawasaki. Hammond took third in both motos and for the day. Results 80cc INT: 1. John _ IVomI. 80cc BEG: 1.
