As the race went into the final laps Torgerson took over the lead with Kelly dropping Root to third with Richard in fourth. Round two again saw Root taking the holeshot, but there was no stopping the hard charging Torgerson as he captured the lead and the overall win with Kelly on his Malcolm Smithsponsored Husky taking second and Root finishing third. In the 250cc Pro race it was Suzukimounted Ken Zahrt taking the first moto win over BK Racing Yamaha rider Bill Ouellette, Yamaha rider Jeff Jones and O'Neal Honda-mounted David Lynch. Round two saw Ouellette taking the lead with EFG Racing Honda rider Larry Barer second and lahrt third. Ouellette held on to the lead to take the second moto win and the overall for the night with Zahrt taking second and third going to Lynch with a 4-4 score. In the 125cc Pro race it was back to back wins for Cycle Products West Suzuki pilot Perry Cendro with BG Oil Suzuki rider Robert Laughlin taking second and third going to Suzuki rider Clarence Reddick. The Open Intermediate race found Crossroads Suzuki rider Don Bizzy taking borne the overall with Team Fish Yamaha-mounted Eric Danola in second and third going to Yamaha of Thousand Oaks rider Rocky Hasb. The 250cc Intermediate race saw Simi Cycle Yamaha rider Ken Perry taking the overall win with Sacks Moto Works Yamaha rider Randy Pretzer in second and third going to Barnett Tool/Castro! Oil-sponsored Andy Richard. The 125cc Intermediate class saw Cycle-Am Yamaha rider John Spar taking back to back wins with second going to Yamaha rider Jon A1exander and third to Lancaster Yamaha's Tony Pulliam. Mouse McCoy made it look easy as be rode his factory support Yamaha to back to back wins in tbe SlIcc Intermediate race with second going to Kawasaki riden Willie Surratt and Kyle Lewis. Van Nuys Cycle rider Steven Van Duzen took home the win in the SlIcc Expert class. It was back to back wins in the SlIcc Junior class for Foothill Yainaha's Guy Giffin.
